Why It Matters Here

Thinner clear coat, higher prices.

New or used, it's worth protecting

Today's vehicles have thinner clear coats and cheaper interior materials than cars did ten years ago, so they start looking tired faster than owners expect.

The best time to coat is when the car is new, before the first winter. But a machine polish first can bring an older car back, and the coating keeps it that way.

  • New paint usually needs only light prep. We'll tell you honestly
  • Paint, glass and wheels coated together as one system
  • Add a 2-year interior coating ($399 to $499) while the interior is still clean
  • Add XPEL film on the front end if you commute on I-90
A Recent Ceramic Coating From Our Shop

A Veloster N with 80,000 miles, brought back.

A McHenry County owner brought in his 2020 Hyundai Veloster N with just over 80,000 miles on it. Six years of wear showed in the paint.

A one-step machine polish took most of it out, then our 3-year ceramic coating locked in the gloss, with no wax or sealant needed for three years. We finished with a full interior detail and an engine bay detail. It's proof a coating isn't only for new cars.

Common Questions

Ceramic coating questions, answered straight.

Should I let the dealer coat it?

That's up to you. Ask them what product they use, how long it's rated for, whether it's warrantied, and whether it's reported to CARFAX. Ours are all four, in writing.

How soon after buying should I coat it?

As soon as you can, ideally before the first winter of salt.

Is my older car worth coating?

Often, yes. A machine polish removes most of the wear first, and the coating keeps the finish from sliding back.

Is 25 minutes worth the drive?

It's one drop-off for years of protection. Most customers drop off in the morning and pick up that evening or the next day.

How long will my detail take?

Most details are done the same day, except ceramic coatings. Most details take 3 to 5 hours, and you’ll be notified once we’re done.

Do you offer pick-up and delivery?

Yes. With our valet service, we come to your home or office, leave our own car parked there (it’s not a loaner), and drive your car to our shop. We’re fully insured. Once your detail is done, we bring your car back and pick ours up, so you never have to leave your home or office. You get the convenience of a mobile detailer with the quality of a full shop detail.
